What are the best Camper vans (Class B)?

I have camped for many years and thinking about buying a camper van (Class B) for my family.

I like the idea of being able to simply take a few items of clothing and some food and just drive away for the weekend.

To do this I have spent time researching what are the best camper vans (Class B) on the market today.

There’s likely to be other great camper vans (Class B) that I missed off the list but these camper vans (Class B) I thought were great.

The camper vans (class B) are in no particular order, just think they are worth considering.

Volkswagen California Ocean

Prices start at $70k

Beds four people

Germans are renowned for their engineering, the Volkswagen California Ocean is no exception.

With added technological advances that act as a second pair of eyes such as driver-assist and driver alert this camper van is a dream to the driver.

Parking is not a problem with parking assist supported by parking sensors front and rear.

Other notable technology capabilities are the Electronic Stabilisation System (ESP).

The ESP applies the brakes if the vehicle encounters a strong crosswind.

This function is standard across the California 6.1 range and activated automatically when traveling above 50 mph.

Prepare a tasty meal anywhere, any time. A kitchen on wheels: the California 6.1 offers you a fully fitted kitchen with a cool box, sink, and stove kitchen unit.

Plus there’s a camping table and chairs which can be set up outside or stowed neatly away to save space when not being used.

There are three engine options in Europe, all diesel: a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 75kW and 250Nm and a five-speed manual gearbox; a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo with 110kW/350Nm and the choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic).

The latter available with optional 4Motion all-wheel-drive; and a 2.0-liter bi-turbo four-cylinder with 150kW/450Nm, again with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG auto with the option of AWD.

California 6.1 offers comfort in a small space.

You can set up the elevating roof of California 6.1 in just a few easy steps at your holiday destination or stopover.

The expanding roof gives you extra space to move around in the passenger compartment.

Setting up the elevating roof is easy in the California Ocean as it’s operated electrically.

As night falls, you can transform the camper van into your comfortable bedroom to sleep four.

Boho Campervans

Prices start at $29k

Beds two to four people

A campervan is a campervan, right? Not according to Boho Camper Vans.

Boho designs are crafted with three important principles: functionality, durability, and beauty.

Boho Campervan’s started out building vans for renting out, now they build vans for direct sale to consumers.

It may be a Dodge Ram Van 3500, or it may be a Ford E-350, but it’ll be roomy enough to support a camper floor plan and it won’t cost more than $10,000, leaving the remaining budget for the particulars of Boho’s interior conversion.

Their designs are the foundation on which every project starts before evolving into a unique creation.

Not one van we hand-craft is the same; a direct reflection of the individuality of their clients.

Boho dedicates the rest of each conversion’s budget toward building out simple but very aesthetic living space.

It covers up the cold sheet metal with warm, knotty pine or cedar, creating the feel of a cozy mini-lodge.

The wood-look flooring shown in photos blends nicely with the wall and ceiling paneling, but Boho uses vinyl flooring, beefing toughness up for the mobile environment.

In back, Boho adds a two-person full-size bed, framing out storage below the mattress.

Ahead of the bed on the driver side, the long bamboo countertop unit includes an end sink hooked to an electric pump and a 25-gal (95-L) water tank.

That water tank also feeds the outdoor shower.

Boho Campervan’s most affordable campervan starts at $29,000 which offers basic but quality and comfort.

The standard is based on Ford E-Series E-250 or E-350 models.

Bono Campervan also offers deluxe models built on a vehicle of your choice, such as a Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, etc.

All campervans are built to order and come with the rustic wood paneling that visually sets them apart from other campervan manufacturers.
